VCFA Units

Administrative Information Management Services (AIMS): AIMS provides consolidated IT services to support the VCFA departments/divisions. AIMS, which serves as a complement to the Division of Information Technology, drives efficiencies through the use of shared infrastructure and talent.

Administrative Process Redesign (APR): APR provides the campus with a framework for process improvement, helping to drive efficiencies within departments and across the enterprise. APR employs methodologies that include the business owner and other stakeholders throughout the process and beyond implementation.

Auxiliary Operations Analysis (AOA): AOA coordinates and directs budget preparation and analysis for all self-supporting campus operations.  

Business Services: Business Services offers a broad range of services and transaction processing to campus, including accounting, internal auditing, risk management, purchasing, materials distribution and surplus property management, and tuition and student loan services.  

Facilities, Planning & Management (FP&M): FP&M oversees the physical development, construction, maintenance and safe operation of the UW-Madison campus. FP&M provides a full spectrum of facilities management services, including planning and managing university buildings, landscape architecture, transportation services and environmental and safety compliance.

Human Resources: OHR manages all aspects of employee services, including payroll, benefits and professional development. OHR develops campus human resources policy, designs and administers campus-wide personnel systems and consults on human resources issues.

Madison Budget Office:  The Budget Office is responsible for the development, management and conduct of UW-Madison’s annual operating budget process involving state, auxiliary, federal and other funds.

Recreational Sports: Recreational Sports manages four campus recreational facilities and more than 63 acres of outdoor field and activity space. Recreational Sports also coordinates intramural and club sports.   

University Health Services (UHS): UHS is the comprehensive campus health organization, offering students primary outpatient medical care, brief mental health counseling and psychiatry and select occupational medicine services to UW-Madison faculty and staff. UHS also offers a range of prevention services to support UW-Madison’s educational and research missions.

University Housing: University Housing manages campus residence halls, apartments and numerous food service operations. Housing also enhances the student experience through academic connections and out-of-class education.

University Police Department: UW-Madison police are responsible for safety, security and law enforcement on campus. The department employs crime prevention and safety initiatives through proactive education and awareness while responding to community needs.

Wisconsin Union: The Wisconsin Union provides students, faculty, staff, Union members and guests spaces to eat, meet, learn and relax in the two primary Union locations daily -- Memorial Union on the shore of beautiful Lake Mendota, and Union South in the heart of campus near Camp Randall Stadium. The Union plans and supports educational, social, recreational and cultural events and operates a number of smaller markets and cafes across campus.
