WISPER training offered
The training plan and schedule for WISPER, the WISconsin Proposal Electronic Routing system, is all set. WISPER replaces the Transmittal Form (t-form) and related look-up tools with the Program Release 2008. WISPER will be used to route proposals and other research-related documents for approval across campus. Details on the plan, schedule, and registration for appropriate sessions are below.
Lecture & Hands On Training
Note that many Divisions will be offering their own training sessions. We recommend you consult your Division research staff first to determine if they will be offering customized sessions to your processes.
If not, for departments, PIs who wish to attend and other Division users, RSP will offer training sessions starting the week of January 14. There will be both hands-on and lecture style training sessions, each offered twice per week for the next several months. These are posted and available for anyone to register via OHRD's Sponsored Programs section.
Additional online training materials
RSP will be maintaining a WISPER help site and WISPER help email address. The site will contain:
- Training Manual
a comprehensive 65 page screen by screen, field by field look at WISPER and all of its functions. - Web casts
2-3 minute videos focusing of very detailed processes of the system, used for the "I remember this, but I need a quick refresher." - Desk References
A document that walks users through a single process within WISPER step by step. - Training Sessions
Information about ongoing WISPER training sessions offered by RSP and other campus units.
We hope this material helps in your planning for the WISPER roll out in late February. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Gray at sgray@rsp.wisc.edu or 262-0237.
